Golf Summer Fashion UPDATE - Be cool this summer !

The Apparel Wire's StyleWatch has its eyes peeled and attention focused on bringing you golf fashion's latest trends, styles and news items.

A lot of hype and hoopla is going into the launch of Calvin Klein Golf's new apparel line. The first collection, Holiday '07, won't ship until mid-November, but clubs such as Doral Golf Resort and Spa, Winged Foot Golf Club, Pebble Beach Golf Links, The Biltmore and Trump International have already placed orders.

What's the attraction?

"Customers are describing the line as refreshing, clean, and easy to understand," said Fran Matthews, president of Calvin Klein Golf and Windsong Golf. "The look of Calvin Klein golf is modern elegance, and we think the golf industry is ready for a new face that is simple, straight forward, and very wearable."

The men's collection features a color palette of grey, black, sand and a grey/blue. Women's clothing will debut in black, grey, white and sea foam. Suggested retail price for men's and women's tops range from $69 to $80 and for bottoms from $55 to $165.

The Bermuda Collection is the latest line of fashionable golf bags, head covers and totes by Keri Golf. The eye-catching patterns come in shades of pink, green and classic black, along with stripes, dots and quilted solids. The newly-introduced junior bags feature embroidered bumblebee, ladybug and golf cart icons.

"I created this collection with timeless patterns and colors that feel feminine and familiar while lending a distinctly classic look," said Keri Murschell, the company founder and principal designer. "The simplistic but lively fabric designs and clean lines help make these bags and accessories the ideal complement to any golf outfit."

LPGA players Christina Kim and Michelle McGann now sport Keri Golf bags on tour. Suggested retail prices are $95 for totes, $65 for headcovers, $175 for junior bags and between $295-$375 for cart and stand bags.
