February 3, 2008 -- RoboCup™ by Fine Tune Golf was selected as the "Best New Product" at the 56th Annual PGA Merchandise Show that concluded Saturday at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
"We have had an overwhelming response throughout the show about RoboCup™," says company founder Keith Foley. "It was quite a feat to design something that would work when placed in a cup on the practice green. I'm very relieved that after two years of hard work, attendees at the show appreciate the engineering that went into making RoboCup™ an amazing training tool. "
RoboCup™ is an automatic ball return robot that fits in any standard or practice-depth cup. It is designed to work on any putting surface, indoors or outdoors. Balls that drop in the cup are returned up to 14 feet or more, depending on green speed. It runs on 4 AA batteries, which lasts for an incredible 15,000 putt returns. Missed putts are also returned with the use of a flexible cord that redirects wayward putts into the hole.
"We introduced RoboCup™ to Tour Pros a week before the PGA Merchandise Show," says Foley. "I was ecstatic to learn that all of them wanted to get their hands on one and practice with it. RoboCup™ makes more sense than walking back and forth and bending down to retrieve balls out of the hole. RoboCup™ saves both your time and your back."
For custom logo opportunities, a metal medallion can be placed on the top cover of a RoboCup™.
RoboCup™ was one of three product winners at the 2009 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida. The event drew over 1100 exhibitors.
The PGA Merchandise Show brings together PGA professionals, golf industry leaders, manufacturers, retailers, and media from 90 countries to preview the latest in equipment, technology, apparel and accessories.
RoboCup™ will be available in April 2009
at www.finetunegolf.com and soon followed in retail stores worldwide
